讲座题目：Optimal Search Auction with a Deadline

讲座摘要：How to search for potential bidders to allocate a product by a deadline?  We fully solve the optimal mechanisms.  The optimal search for long-lived bidders is characterised by a constant stopping cutoff and an adaptive sampling rule, which is increasing over time and decreasing with a seller's fallback revenue.  The optimal search for short-lived bidders is featured by decreasing stopping cutoffs and increasing sample sizes over time.  A sequence of second-price auctions with appropriate reserve prices and sampling rules can implement the optimal selling mechanisms.  Particularly for long-lived bidders, the implementation necessitates setting discriminatory reserve prices that depend on both a bidder's entry period and the number of subsequent entrant bidders induced by his bid.  We also derive efficient mechanisms and indicate that the inefficiency of an optimal search mechanism may stem from its inefficient search rule.  Other relevant comparative results are also provided.

主讲人简介：李志赟博士现任英国杜伦大学经济系副教授，经济学博士项目副主任。他于2012年于牛津大学获经济学博士学位，曾任职于国际组织和高校研究机构。他的研究领域为应用微观理论、产业组织和发展经济学，研究成果发表于International Economic Review，Journal of Industrial Economics, Journal of Economic Behaviours and Organizations, Social Choice and Welfare, Journal of Comparative Economics等杂志。为中文社科领域的高引作者，中文CNKI引用数超4000。
